The San Vincente Wastewater Treatment Plant (SVWWTP) is capable of treating 800,000 gallons per day of sewer flow or approximately 4,000 EDU's. The Santa Maria Wastewater Service Area serves approximately 4,200 EDU's in the downtown area of Ramona. The Santa Maria Wastewater Treatment plant (SMWWTP) is capable of treating 1,000,000 gallons per day of sewer flow.  The recycled water produced by the plant is used to irrigate the Mt. Department Description and Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Collections Department is to maintain the integrity of the District's collection system, which consists of aproximately 100 miles of sanitary sewer lines, 1,543 manholes, 5 pump stations, and an inverted siphon. In addition to cleaning over 350,000 feet of sewer lines per year, the Collections crew conducts video inspections and maintains records of the sewer lines condition; is instrumental in establishing repair and replacement priorities; and handles investigation, Digialert (underground) line locating, regulatory reporting, and claims for infrequent sewer overflows.

Goals and Objectives

  • Zero Overflows.
  • Continue aggresive sewer line cleaning - on average 30,000 feet per month.
  • Continue digital video inspection - one-fifth of the District per year.
  • Courteous and timely response to customer calls.
  • Proactive participation in sewer line repair and replacement.
  • Maintain zero lost time injuries.
